Streaming content at scale
We built a digital platform to deliver services to their growing worldwide fan base and the rugby-playing community.
Opportunity
In early 2018, a cutting-edge development company undertook a groundbreaking project aimed at revolutionising the live streaming industry. Recognising the exponential growth in content creators and the increasing demand for high-quality live streaming services, the company set out to create a robust platform capable of supporting over one million streamers simultaneously. This ambitious initiative was named Project StreamMax.
The core objective of Project StreamMax was to develop a scalable and reliable live streaming infrastructure that could accommodate the diverse needs of a global audience while ensuring seamless, high-definition streaming for content creators of all sizes. The project sought to address several critical challenges in the live streaming space, including latency reduction, stream quality, and server load management.
Outcomes
Robust and scalable content management system
We created a new content management system (CMS) that was both robust and scalable to accommodate their main website plus their multiple auxiliary sites across different platforms.
Live streaming
We integrated live streaming of all the games through the All Blacks TV website and delivered sign-up, payment and permission services, plus constructed the integration of live content from a service provided by SkyTV into their online streaming platform.
#1 on iTunes
In parallel, we launched the MyRugby application (#1 downloaded app on iTunes).
