Real-time command centre

The real-time system receives data from every public transport vehicle in the AT network (3,000+ vehicles) every 9 seconds, which translates to approximately 29,000,000 messages per day.

Our open-source platform enriches the data before making it available to several digital channels, including public API(s), applications, signs and the consumer website. The real-time platform has 50 microservices, enabling each to scale up or down independently.

The result? A cost-effective platform — resources are utilised on an as-needed basis, allowing the business to cope with quiet and peak periods without wasting resources. Each microservice is independently deployed to enable multiple teams to work in parallel on different features without the fear of breaking different parts of the platform when another feature is deployed.

The real-time command centre has enabled the client to scale up and down the development teams as required.
