We’ve created a series of verifiable data solutions that will be used to verify interactions cryptographically in both physical and digital domains.
For 160 years, the Auckland Museum has been amassing a rich and varied collection of objects.
We created a platform where collection information could be accessed easily by structuring data, so it was interlinked and more useful through semantic queries.
It is built upon standard technologies such as HTTP, RDF, and URI, but rather than using them to serve web pages for human readers, it allows users to share information in a way that computers can read automatically.
The objects were easily accessible online, but as we rolled out the digital platform, we started to discover the previously hidden relationships between objects, people and places, delivering even further value and potential for discovery within the museum’s data sources.
The Auckland Museum was named alongside the BBC, the World Bank, the Wellcome Trust, the European Union data portal and both the US & UK government-data portals as an example of best practice for digital standards.
